-Use metric measurement to model the decomposition of one whole into tenths
-Use metric measurement and area models to represent tenths as fractions greater than 1 and decimal numbers.
-Represent mixed numbers with units of tens, ones, and tenths with number disks, on the number line, and in expanded form

Language Arts-read and comprehend a fantasy story. Student will be able to identify past and future tense. Figurative Language.Write an informative essay.

Utah History- learn about the Spanish explorers and the trappers in Utah.

Math- Students will be able to compare fractions by using multiplication in order to create equivalent fractions. Students will be able to add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators. Students will solve word problems using fractions.

Language Arts- Students will be able to use the strategy of comparing and contrasting in order to write a comparison essay. Students will be able to identify helping and linking verbs.

Utah History- Students will present their findings about the five Native American Tribes of Utah to the class

Math-  Students will be able to understand and name fractions. Students will be able to decompose fractions using tape diagrams.

Language Arts- Students will be able to identify the maid idea of given passages. Students will also identify and use verbs correctly. Students will be exposed to informational writing. Students will write a paragraph that explains the physical characteristics of animals in the desert.

Utah History-  Students will research information about the five Native American Groups of Utah.

Math- Students will be able to multiply by using multiples of 10, 100 and 1,000.  They will also use place value disks to represent two-digit by one-digit multiplication.

Language Arts- Students will be reading a Personal Narrative Story. In writing, they will be write a personal narrative story. Students will infer and evaluate a text based on their prior knowledge. They will identify singular and plural nouns.

Utah History- Students will be a introduced to the Five Native American Tribes in Utah. They will identify the differences and similarities among them.

 - Interpret and represent patterns when multiplying by 10, 100, and 1,000 in arrays and numerically.

Utah History- Students are learning about basins, plateaus, and mountains of Utah. Students will be creating a topographic map of Utah representing the three regions.

MATH-  We are starting Module 3 in Math. In this Module; students will be able to investigate and identify the area and perimeter of rectangles. Use formulas in order to identify the area and perimeter of rectangles. Solve multi-step word problems in order to understand the use of are and perimeter in real word problems.

Language Arts- Students will be able to identify the sequence of events of a story as well as to make inferences and predictions. Identify antonyms and proper nouns.

Utah History- Students will be able to identify basins, valleys and plateaus of Utah. They will be able to identify the type of environments that each region has.
